About us

Little Valley Brewery is situated in the Upper Calder Valley high above Cragg Vale in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. It produces premium quality English and Continental style beers, an inspired range with refreshing taste -that lasts.

All Little Valley’s beers are 100% organic, certified and audited by the Soil Association. This means it’s more healthy, contains no nasty additives, avoids pesticides and no GM crops in our ingredients which come from trusted sources -so the pure and natural beer is all you get to taste, brewed to the highest standards.

Our beers are environmentally sound, from the quality of the ingredients through to delivery; and assuring you of a pure, natural and fresh tasting range of beers. Little Valley brews responsible beers for responsible drinking. Our bottled beers are further endorsed by the Vegan Society and the CAMRA Real Ale in a Bottle campaign.

Dutch-born owner and master brewer Wim van der Spek is a Bavarian-qualified Master Brewer and has an MSc in food technology. There’s no doubt that he’s a serious contender in the world of connoisseur beers. He has produced award-winning beers in his native Holland, in Germany, in England and the Scottish Highlands.

Wim met his English partner Sue Cooper during a cycling trip from Holland to Tibet. After the trip they settled In Hebden Bridge and founded Little Valley Brewery. For Wim this has fulfilled a lifetime ambition.

Very quickly, Wim’s beers from the Little Valley Brewery were establishing an enviable local and regional reputation for an excellent range of complementary real ales with quality and distinctive character.
